Life can be confusing and frightening. We do not have to face it alone.

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lead not on your own understanding.’ Proverbs 3:5

We can trust in God because He is trustworthy.

‘In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.’ Proverbs 3:5

So often we find it easier to worry than to turn to God, why is that? Are we too busy? Do we forget that He is our help?

‘Come unto Me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.’ Matthew 11:28

It is so easy to open our mouth and say the wrong thing.

Take my lips and let them be;

Filled with messages from Thee.

‘Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3

When we are in the middle of troubles it is difficult to see the way ahead. We can wonder why this is happening to us. What is the future; often it is something we would like to know. We need to leave it to God, He has His reasons.

‘He knows the way that I take; when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.’ Job 23:10

The heirs of salvation, I know from His word,

Through much tribulation, must follow their Lord.

God doesn’t promise to remove the tribulation, but He does promise to be with us in our troubles.

If only everyone could know about the Lord of God and worship Him.

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14

We are probably very much off the mark in our ideas about heaven, although Revelations does tell us some things about it. But our human minds are so limited.

‘And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying’ Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.’ Revelations 19:6

‘Thou are worthy, O Lord.’ Revelation 4:11

There can be times when we might feel that our prayer goes no higher than the ceiling. But if we our prayer is connected with a growing closeness to God, then it will be effective.

‘The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.’ James 5:16
