God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not faint. Psalm 46:1-2

It is not a question of ‘if’ trouble comes, but a fact that it will come, in some shape or form. It is then we need God’s refuge and strength.

The Lord is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1

Just a few words but such a comfort to each of us.

Choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice and hold fast to Him.

Deuteronomy 30:19

It is obvious that we should choose life but there are three conditions. We need to love the Lord our God, as well as listening to His voice and then hold fast to Him.

The righteousness will have no fear of bad news; their hands are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:7

Trusting in the Lord should take the weight of worry away. Life will still be difficult at times, but trusting will lift the burdens.

Surely your righteousness will never be shaken. Psalm 112:6

This doesn’t always apply to me. I obviously need to walk closer to God.

Jesus said ‘Make very effort to enter through the narrow door, because many will try to enter and not be able to. Matthew 13:24

I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man. Acts 24:16

Paul strove to keep right with God, even before he got right with man. He knew his priorities.

In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:6

OK it doesn’t mean life will be easy but if we acknowledge Him, we know that we will be on the right path.

Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8

So often we struggle along on our own, when there is our God waiting to be our refuge. We just need to remember Him more and speak to Him.
