God’s Promise

‘You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.’ Hebrews 10:36

Perseverance is what is needed in these days. But are we persevering in our will or the will of God. If so we will receive what He has promised. God always keeps His word. What has He promised? Eternal life.

Hope

After my friend’s daughter had done some home baking with her mother, she sent me a little cake she had made, very generous with the chocolate topping. So wonderful to be remembered. It gave me hope for the future and the future generation.

‘Let us hold unswerveingly to the hope we possess, for the One who promised is faithful. ‘ Hebrews 10:23

How much more faithful is God.

We Pray

‘We always thank God, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, then we pray for you because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus.’ Colossians 1:3

What a wonderful encouragement this can be for Christians all over the world. I may not know you personally, but I can pray for you.

Look Up

At this present time there is disaster all round the world. But we don’t need to look down; we need to look up. We can see the sky, hear the birds, bask in the sun when it shines or relax in the rain.

‘Heaven is declaring God’s glory, the sky is proclaiming His handiwork. ‘ Psalms 19:1

Come Near

Our God is not one who will intrude into our lives without being invited. If we move towards God He will respond. We will then receive His love, His protection, His direction and His forgiveness.

‘Come near to God and He will come near to you.’ James 4:8

Grace

Yet again we are reminded we can’t cope with this pandemic and it’s terrible fallout on our own. We have questions and don’t find the answers in the world. We have questions we can bring to God. He will give us the grace to cope.

‘But He gives us more grace.’ James 4:6

Blessed Nation

Wherever we are in the world we are badly affected by this Covid 19 virus. We can be asking why and does God care? God does care, weeps with us and looks down on us. We have no choice, He will see what we are doing. We cannot hide. May we remember that the nation who looks to Him will be blessed.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance. From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind. Psalm 33:12-13

The Lord is Near

‘Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.’ ‘ Philippians 4:4-5

Twice we are asked to rejoice. So it must be important. Then we are asked to be gentle. Many people are hurting at the present, We need to be kind and gentle with them. And then we are told’ the Lord is near.’ We don’t need to despair because the Lord is near.

Pray

‘Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.’ Luke 5:16

During this pandemic half the world find they have extra lonely time on their hands. What a wonderful opportunity to follow the example of Jesus and go to a quiet place and pray more. The other half of the world find life is more hectic and stressed than usual; more than ever they need to find time for prayer, even arrow prayers.
