Sometimes we can see no end to our problems. Both Joseph and Jeremiah cried out to God for help.

‘Lord, how long will you look on?’ Psalm 35:17

But God does hear and answer.

‘I waited for the Lord on high, I waited and He heard my cry.’ B Batstone.

God doesn’t give up and desert us just because things are difficult. If He has begun something in us He will work to complete it.

‘Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

It is a source of thankfulness for those of who are free to worship in public. May we ever be thankful and not take it for granted.

‘I was so glad when they said to me, Let us go to the house of the Lord.’ Psalm 122:1

God cares and knows about our hungry birds at this time of year, so I know He cares for me.

‘Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,

When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,

I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;

His eve is on the sparrow and I know He cares for me.’

The Lord asks us all to go. To the mission field, our neighbours, school, work-places. There is no exceptions. The message to all is to go and tell.

‘And he trembling and astonished said, ‘Lord, what will you have me to do?’ And the Lord said unto him, ‘Arise and go.’ Acts 9:6

There is so much stress in today’s world, it is no wonder that there is depression and anxiety. Turning to God can be of help to keep a sound mind.

‘God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind,’ 2 Timothy 1:7

‘There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the most high dwells.’ Psalm 46:4

Nichodemus had many questions for Jesus, ‘How can a man be born again?’ So often we look at things from an earthly position. Through God’s grace we need to see things through His eyes.

Jesus answered, ‘Truly I tell you, no-one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.’ John 3:5

To be a child of God has a feeling of safety. There is much to be afraid of in this world, but in the Bible we read 366 times ‘Do not fear.’

‘In Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptised with Christ have clothes yourselves with Christ.’ Galatians 3:26-7

As a healthy rule we are encouraged to cut down on our salt intake. But our food still needs some salt to help with preserving it. In our Christian lives we can also be the necessary salt to mankind.

‘You are the salt of the earth.’ Matthew 5:13
