Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The judge is standing by the door. James 5:9
His Offspring
For in Him we live and move and have our being. As some of your poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’ Acts 17:28
With Thanksgiving
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requirements to God.
Philippians 4:6
Gentleness
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Philippians 4:5
What is man?
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:3-4
Tomorrow I will be flying many miles and will see God’s heaven and stars from a different perspective. With so many problems in the world, it make me think of the words of one of our great poets. ‘every prospect pleases and only man is vile.’
Tingling ears!
The ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle. Jeremiah 19:3
It makes you want to read more to find out why.
Look Deeper
We are not like God. We look at outward appearances and then judge. God sees what is in the heart. This can sometimes make us fearful.
Here God instructs Samuel to choose David whose heart was good, instead of his handsome looking brothers.
But God looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7
Forgotten
Yet my people have forgotten Me. Jeremiah 18:15
God said this thousands of years ago about Israel. Could He say the same thing about us today?
Compassion
I pray that as a Christian this is something I may have more of.
But a Samaritan…..when He saw him, He had compassion. Luke 10:33
Nourishment
It’s hard to know who to trust in these uncertain times. We need to have our roots grounded in something secure.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water. Jeremiah 12:7-8
