When I was younger most of my friends went to Sunday School and many of their parents attended church. It was considered the normal thing. Religious Knowledge was a subject taught in schools and Gideon visitors were welcome. During the last sixty or so years things have changed and church attendance has dropped with the name of Jesus forbidden in some public places.
But praise God, there seems to be a change. When one wonders what has caused this change, it is the hand and grace of God. It is not better publicity, presentation or money spent. All these things are good but without God they are a waste of time. Numbers in my church are increasing, but ours is not the only church. We are hearing the same story all over the country. Of course, with any revival movement there is also increased oppression . Looking round the world we can see we are in a bad and serious place.
I give thanks that I have been spared to see this day. My parents only lived to see Christianity in decline. With this spiritual arising, there is also a responsibility. God wants us to be in partnership with Him. There is a part for us to play. We mustn’t say we are never going to tell others about God because they have never listened to us in the past. Our God is not a static God. The Bible tells us ‘See I am doing a new things. Now it springs up. Do you not perceive it?’ Is 43:19
