‘If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.’ 1 John 1:8-9
It is so easy to beat ourselves up because of our failings. It’s easy to swing from one extreme to another – ‘Oh my, I’m so wicked’ or ‘I’m not as bad as the next person.’ We need God’s forgiveness to equal ourselves out. Our humanness needs God’s divinity.
