Rejoice in the Lord always. Philippians 4:4

We probably can’t say it too often. As Christians we should not be miserable.

Be you doers of the Word and not hearers only.

How much more. Matthew 7:11

This is something we could say as God showers blessings on us. He gives us above what we can ask or think.

Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength, they will mount up on wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Having had two and a half years when walking was very painful, I love this verse which promises me that I will run and not be weary and walk and not faint. Humanly speaking I can’t do much running, but spiritually I can.

Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

This sounds a bit like faith through good works. As I’m not very active at the moment, I’m trying to learn to praise God more, that might involve doing good works but it might not. It is the praise that matters.

He will rejoice over you with gladness. Zephaniah 3:17

That’s pretty amazing if we really believe it. I often think I’m not worth rejoicing over.

Truly, truly, I say to you whoever believes has eternal life. John 6:47

I found these encouraging words tucked away in a daily missionary diary.

I can do everything through Him who give me strength. Philippians 4:13

I can’t cope physically, mentally or spiritually. I definitely need the help of him who give me strength.

The Lord will fight for you and you have only to keep still. Exodus 14:14

I need to remember to stop fighting and struggling and let God do the fighting.

Do not be afraid, stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. Exodus 14:13

At the moment I have a friend who is seriously suffering with high blood pressure. It is reckoned that the cause is stress. I need to be reminded to stand firm and wait for God.
