Remember

I cried out to my God for help. I cried out to God to hear me…………..Yes I will remember Your miracles of long ago. I will consider all Your works and meditate on your mighty deeds. Psalms 77:1 & 12

In many of the psalms David cries out in despair and then, as in this psalm remembers all that God has done and he is able to praise him. This is something we can do when we are in despair, turn to God and remember.

I Knock

I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in. revelations 3:20

We read this about the church in Laodicia. They were described as neither hot or cold. For myself I pray that my enthusiasm for the gospel may never cease.

All in Love

Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

What a high standard we need to reach. Fortunately we do not need to do it in our own strength. We have a Help who can always guide us.

Morning and Evening

Sow your seed in the morning and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well. Ecclesiastes 11:6

I found this little gem almost by accident. What a wise thought. We do not know which of our endeavours will succeed, so we need to strive at everything. So good we have a Saviour who does know the future.

To Him

From Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory for ever, Amen. Romans 11:36

It’s awesome to realise that everything, just everything is under His control. We might not like some things but He knows best and He controls it all.

God’s wisdom

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God.

Romans 11:33

We have a God who is full of wisdom and knowledge, yet we, who have so little wisdom and knowledge, try to organise our own lives. Mankind’s reasoning is so strange. What do we know?

Sovereign

The Sovereign Lord is my strength, He make my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19

I realised once again that the word ‘sovereign’ contains the word ‘reign’. That certainly applies to our God. He reigns over everything.
